Explaining The Test For Visual Acuity

The Dynamic Visual Acuity Test assesses gaze instability by measuring the difference between head-stationary and head-moving visual acuity. Dynamic visual acuity equipment tests vision in a horizontal meridian by a rotating disc. These equipments are equipped with rotating motors and timers. Dynamic visual acuity refers to an individual's ability to see clearly during head movement. In particular, the visual function designed to identify moving targets has been studied number of times by different researchers. Visual acuity is a measure of the spatial resolution of the visual system of processing. It forms on the fact that how precisely light is focused on the retina, the integrity of the eye's neural elements, and the interpretative faculty of the brain.

It consists of two parts namely one active and other is passive. In the active part, the individual generated rotations by active movements of horizontal section. In the passive part, head impulses with random timing are delivered manually by the examiner stationed near the individual and holding with the help of standing examiner besides individual and holding his head laterally on both sides without interfering with the visual field. The head impulses consisted of brisk rotations toward the tested labyrinth and the centre head position with a starting position of a 20° to 30° turn to the contralateral side. However, there are many measures that one can take to enhance their visual acuity.

These are known to be helped with various dynamic visual acuity exercises. As we know, dynamic visual acuity enables you. Clearly see the objects while they are in quick movement. To improve this, you can read letters of different sizes from a rotating surface and change the speed accordingly.
